BACKRGOUND

I was approached by Theo Rosengren and Oskar Johansson, founders of A Makers Collective, to create their brand identity with the mission to unite their startup and its users. The collective is both a social platform for makers to network with etch other, start collaborations and share knowledge. But also a commercial platform for the makers in the collective to sell their creations and promote themselves, all under one brand but still unique to their own identities. The focus with the collective is its philosophical standpoint; that its hand made, personal, ecological and strength in the community.

CONCEPT

The hand and the mind is what unites the maker but also gather in blueprint or sketch. Then the materials and craft come to play. These are the base for craft. With the base as the M for maker, made as a blueprint, the logo makes the container for the maker to apply her material. To make the logo personal to the maker but still in the collective I created a dynamic logo where the maker co-create the logo by integrateing her creations within the borders of the M. In this way both the values of the brand and the personality of the individual maker is met, uniting them in a unique and diverse logo.
